Sessions can be conducted in English &/or Español. As a Cuban-American I have a proficiency level in both languages of "native-speaker" which allows for ease of communication in session with my clients. Sometimes it's easier to speak in the language in which our experiences occurred because this is how they have been stored in our memories..
Deciding to take the leap of starting therapy can be scary. You have no idea what to expect or maybe you have some vague idea thanks to the media's portrayal of the "blank slate" therapist. My goal on the first session is to create a space where clients feel seen, heard, and understood. Therapy is all about fit. If you don't feel a strong connection to your therapist then you are less likely to stick with it. Together we have 60 minutes to discuss what's going on, what is causing you so much distress that you just can't do it alone anymore, and to work together to create a plan to help you feel like your best self. The frequency and length of treatment is dependent on what your needs are, the intensity of your symptoms, and what your ultimate goals are. I am here to walk you through this process and help you find the light at the end of the tunnel.
